Summary/Abstract: General Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo, former President of the Mouvement de libération du Congo and Commander-in-Chief of its military branch, the Armée de libération du Congo was indicted for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Central African Republic between 2002-2003 by military forces under his command. Although he was condemned by Third Chamber of International Criminal Court at 18 years in prison, Chamber of Appeal found him innocent, considering he took the necessary measures during military operations and The Prosecutor’s Office didn’t proved he could be responsible for the entire number of crimes he was indicted.
