Summary/Abstract: Professor Valeriu Lucian Bologa was the first Romanian titular of the History of Medicine in Romania and the founder of Historic Medical School in our country. He studied: the medicine in the native Dacia and that of Dacian‑Roman; the prefeudal Romanian medicine; the Romanian popular medicine; the medicine in Transylvania and the classic medicine of the XIX‑XX Centuries. He also studied the ethic and philosophical problems of medicine; the history and philosophy of sciences, especially that of the history of medicine; the traditions and relations with the physians of the national minorities in Transylvania and he wrote about the Medical School in Cluj‑Napoca. Professor Valeriu Lucian Bologa published the „History of the universal medicine” and the „History of Romanian medical school”. He also studied the life of Professor Ioan Piuariu Molnar. He founded the Museum of the History of Medicine, that of Pharmacy and Library in Cluj‑Napoca. Professor Valeriu Lucian Bologa remains as the builder of Medical history and a founder of his original contributions to the patrimony of the medical history.
