Summary/Abstract: The article deals with some provisions concerning the nature and legal significance of the institution of public order clause and the associated institution of mandatory (direct) application rules, also known as superimperative rules. In addition, the article reflects the views of some legal experts, experts in the field of private international law, concerning the institutions under consideration. The author makes her own conclusions about the effectiveness of the existing regulation of the public order clause in the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
