In order to succeed and grow in a satisfactory manner, manager must own career moves and learn how to take care of broadening the knowledge, skills and competence. This raises the need for continuous, self-seeking opportunities for development - through experience, build inspiring social relations, as well as through science. In this paper was put a few questions and try to find the answer to it: what is the work of today’s managers? and what they have to learn to cope with the dynamics of change in modern business; which profiles managerial competence are appreciated and sought after; the best answer to the volatility and uncertainty surrounding the manager-leader with high levels of emotional intelligence and mental flexibility? The basis for the development of such competence is openness to experience, self-reflection and the ability to learn from their mistakes and successes.
