Problems of Performance Management Systems

Summary/Abstract: Despite commonly disclosed in literature large number of advantages stemming from performance management systems implementations, recent articles show that a significant number of performance management systems implementations either fail or are not completed. The aim of this paper is to identify the problems which constitute barriers to successful performance systems implementation and further usage. In due course of literature revive the author identified 65 potential problems, which were next categorized into three groups: strategic (12), system (30) and HR (23). The original value of the article is to show the companies what kind of problems they can encounterduring and pursuant to performance management systems implementations.
