Research on the quality of hospital healthcare services in the region of Łódź – methodology and results

Summary/Abstract: Managing the quality of healthcare services is a priority in the activity of each Healthcare unit. Guaranteeing the best available medical and nursing healthcare to all patients shall make up the main direction of strategical activities of the founding authority, the managing staff and everyday work of the personnel as the implementation of high quality medical services requires an efficient coordination of the activities and good abilities to adapt to continuously changing conditions. The purpose of this paper is: (1) to discuss the methods of the research on the quality of hospital healthcare services and (2) to set out the dependences between the managing activities and the quality level of healthcare services in public hospitals of the Province of Łódź. The results of the research may be taken into account while drawing up the regional healthcare strategy in the field of activities for the quality improvement of healthcare services.
