Summary/Abstract: In Mexico, family control of the company is the historical model until today. Initiated by the legal weakness of property rights and the subsequent establishment of the corporation was given without loss of corporate control, enabling a corporate culture based on family ties that became business networking by establishing relationships crossed at the boards. Economic groups are seen in late capitalism as family structures and blocks investments. Large firms in Monterrey do not escape this reality because its composition, economic power and role in the development of capitalism in Mexico, allowed to analyze the characteristics and competitive strategies that allowed them to be leaders in companies and the business elite that commands whose behavior at the national level was expressed by key agencies and institutions that represent their interests. Family structure linked to industrialization, the managerial capitalism and finances show great will to survive, however, they face the challenge of trends in the global economy that lead to an increase of the concentration and centralization of capital in the most dynamic activities.
