Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to describe the importance of family businesses both in Mexico and in the world, because family businesses are generating more jobs, constituting a major part in the economy of the countries, and likewise, representing an opportunity for creating business through people with or without preparation and, once established in the market, they can grow to the rhythm of economic development of countries. This is desk research from secondary sources in which we identified and analyzed the main problems of family firms proposing in the end some strategies to promote their permanence and continuity, just as interviews with owners of family businesses were conducted, proceeding to establish an interdisciplinary connection between the various fields dealing with the study of the family business.
