Social responsibility according to the project of international standard ISO 26000

Summary/Abstract: The International Standardization Organization predicted earlier that a new standard, ISO 26000, concerning social responsibility would be announced in 2010. The article discusses and synthetically evaluates the main components of the document. Next, the article tries to point out the potential outcome of publishing the standard. It focuses mostly on the problem that the norm has an extensive and broad nature at the same time which might influence the popularity of the solution. Finally, the paper identifies the actions which may increase the popularity of social responsibility.
