Between Carelessness and Ignorance. Women, Sexuality and Re-productive Health in Socialist Yugoslavia

Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the changing position of women in the socialist society and its partial, but not complete emancipation. Special attention has been given to gender relations in the conditions of socialist modernization, weakening of social restrains and patriarchal believes, the awakening of sexuality and the consequences that followed these major social changes. The sources from the Archives of Yugoslavia, as well as relevant periodicals and literature, were used.
