Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the biographical factors that influenced the formation of Slavic themes in Veltman's literary heritage. Historical-cultural and historical-literary parallels are drawn, which makes it possible to clarify the way in which Veltman as a writer followed in an effort to preserve continuity in the development of the Slavic cultural tradition.
