SOME PECULIARITIES OF PLAVA’S AND GUCIA’S OF ORAL TRADITIONAL PROSE

Summary/Abstract: In this paper are scrutinized some peculiarities of Plava’s and Gucia’s prose in the bases of the analysis of Idriz Ulaj’s volume Proza popullore e Plavës dhe Gucisë (Popular prose of Plava and Gucia). There are scrutinized some genres of oral prose of this ethnographical province. It is emphasized that fairy tales of Plava and Gucia have their value in the treated values within them and in rich language of local dialect, since these regions have preserved artistic idiomatic with archaic elements of Albanian language which are e peculiarity of the speeches in these regions. Fairy tales mainly represent compositional structure of this genre. In some of these creations the action is developed according to the stages which characterize genre structure. Narrations are confessions of the oral prose which even in present time are confessed in different occasions; this genre of oral prose continues a passive life. Such confessions treat various phenomena, related to life events from which is drawn a lesson or experience worth to be passed on from generation to generation. Narrations of Plava and Gucia have a purpose of spreading moral and ethical influence through popular philosophy, without leaving aside esthetic influence. Their vocabulary is not imposed by direct predikant speaking, but by the wholeness of the confession comes out ethical, moral and philosophic message. Anecdote is this region’s genre of oral prose which even now makes active life in oral composition. Anecdote has as narrative object the individual experience, which will serve as an experience of universal value, as a conclusion with ethical, philosophical, and life value. In the anecdote of this region the message comes out from the example of a certain individual’s acting in a life situation, a situation which has put the person in front of difficult challenges. In this Albanian ethnographic province are confessed also “pleqnitë” which are creations attributed to famous personalities “pleqnarëve”( older people who deal with different contests), who have solved various conflicts. In “pleqni” are almost found synthesized lots of custom norms, according to which is shared the justice through the centuries. It is an abundant range of ethnic mores phenomena which become an object of the treatment of “pleqnive” (judgment by smart elders) such as protection of the individual’s, families’, kin’s, bajrak’s (a territory under one flag consisting of different kinships) honor, solution of quarrels etc. In this paper are used other genres of oral prose also, such as: fables, legends etc. it is highlighted that oral prose has numerous values, among which are: mythical value, literary esthetic value, ethical and philosophical value and linguistic value.
