Summary/Abstract: The paper firstly presents the essence and the specification of using benchmarking in the public sector entities.It also describes the benchmarking methodology in the City Hall in Dzierzoniow. Particular emphasis is placed onshowing generally presented defects and weaknesses of the method and verifyingvalidity of their occurence in the local government units.
