Family in the Process of Confusing of Cultures and Traditions

Summary/Abstract: One of the phenomena which our society must face is the advancing process of globalization. It is becoming more and more accelerated thanks to the development of new technologies and migration of populations. It can be concluded, based on the research conducted by the author on a 100-people student group, that in the context of globalization they are advocates of preserving local traditions. On the other hand, they see nothing wrong in everyday usage of terms taken from foreign languages. The respondents who participated in the research indicated that the family should play the most important role in transferring local patterns of behaviour and values. Taking the current discussion on the shape of the family, its responsibilities as well as the ongoing globalization process into consideration, the tasks of the family may seem difficult to achieve.
