Summary/Abstract: The relocation, which occurred both in the nomadic and settled way of life due to natural, political, economic and many other geographical factors, has been among the research topics of many disciplines. In this context, as the subject of this study, certain relocated quarters within the Daphan Plain, which is an important part of the Erzurum Plain, were discussed such as the Gelinkaya quarter, established in the Daphan Plain and administratively a part of Aziziye Central District, and the Küçükgeçit and Çayköy quarters of Aşkale district. Due to the natural disasters in the recent years or as a precaution for future natural disasters, these rural settlements were relocated. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to investigate the natural factors that influenced the relocation of these rural settlements, which are the subject of this research, resulting problems, and changes in the socio-cultural and socio-economic life. In this context, in order to achieve the above-mentioned objective, answers were sought for a number of research questions. In this study, travel, observation, and interview methods were used in general terms.
