Summary/Abstract: Holy Prophet Muhammad and muslims were warned in Anfal verse 67 due to taking captives in the battle of Badr. It has been reported by Allah that they would have been touched for what they took by great punishment if not for decree from Him that preceded in Anfal verse 68. The word “Kitab” that mentioned in this verse is controversial and this word has been interpreted in different ways since early times. Recently a new statement has added to these explanations by Maududi. He, for some reasons he put forwards, has interpreted the word “Kitab” in accordance with Muhammad verse 4. To interpret the word mentioned above in his way may arise some problems. In this paper we will explain those problems together with their reasons and will try to reach at a conclusion.
