The Possibilities of a Family in Opposing Social Pathologies

Summary/Abstract: Family is the most important influence on the development of children's personality, which will allow them to resist social pathologies in the future. These statements do not raise any doubts. In discussions on the educational role of the family, its stability and factors allowing the realization of its basic functions remain a problem. According to the author (based on his research) the stability of the family depends on how much time family members have timefor each other, whether they have children and financial security. Whether the parents are formally married and live in their own place is of lesser importance. Destructive elements that weaken the family and do not allow it to perform its functions and opposesocial pathologies include alcoholism, lack of a clearly defined concept and role of the family, unemployment, infidelity and drug abuse.
