The Situation of Single Mothers in Local and Family Environment

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to learn the situation of the single mothers in contemporary Polish society. This problem is widely described in the literature of the subject because of its timeliness. The increasing number of divorces means that more and more mothers are deciding to stay single. As a result, they have to face difficult challenges themselves in the implementation of all family functions, especially economic and care and educational functions. As a research method one conducted interviews with women who are single mothers. Research shows that single mothers can now count on support from their family, as well as a more favorable society than they used to be. Moreover, numerous social programs for single mothers are currently being implemented, which greatly facilitate their independence.
