Summary/Abstract: Šarūnas Sauka was born in 1958 in Vilnius. In 1978-1985 he studied at the Lithuanian State Art Institute (now Vilnius Academy of Art). In 1989 he was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize, in 1990 the prize of the 8th Vilnius Painting Triennial, in 1998 the Order of Gediminas for artistic achievements. Since 1989 he has been a member of "Group 24". His works are exhibited at the Lithuanian Art Museum, Vilnius Art Academy Museum, and in private collections home and abroad.
