Summary/Abstract: There are families that are in search of their own identity. Social conventions impose a certain type of success, and whoever does not fit the pattern becomes the target of preconceptions, value judgements and, inevitably, isolation in various forms. The decision to adopt one or several children is not easy for any part involved. This paper presents some of the legal and especially social aspects of adoption and their impact on the family.
