Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to introduce the basic information related to teaching Slovak languagein the Republic of Serbia, specifically in primary education. Slovak language is being taught as a minority language in Serbian Vojvodina. Slovak schools and teaching Slovak language have had a long tradition and ever intense presence in Vojvodina. The first part of the paper briefly describes the basic facts concerning the life of Slovaks and Slovak school system in Serbia. The second part of the paper focuses on teaching Slovak language in primary education and on the preliminary comparison.
