MORAL VALUES ANU POLITICAL ATTITUDES

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the chapter is to present some results and the theoretical assumptions underlying an ongoing empirical research project dealing with moral values and political attitudes of the Polish people. Included is a disscusion of the main problem addressed in the study, basic hypotheses, and methods of the reserch and characteristics of the sample, as well as presentation of data collected in September 1984. The study was designed to analize the relation between the structure of moral reasoning, perceptions of justice in society, and tendencies to accept or deny the legitimacy of the political order. It examined how the recent crisis in Poland was reflected in the moral and political attitudes of the Polish people.
