Summary/Abstract: This article records the liaison between T. G. Masaryk (1850–1937) and Austrian orthopedist Adolf Lorenz (1854–1946). These two men met briefly in Vienna at the end of the 1870s and the beginning of the 1880s. They then re-established contact after 1919, when they exchanged several letters. Lorenz described his acquaintance with Masaryk in several newspaper articles and in his book of memoirs.
