Application of linear programming in determining the structure of employment in sheltered workshops

Summary/Abstract: This article is about the problem involved with the optimization of the employment’s structure in sheltered workshops. Optimization here means the selection of all the allowable decisions, which best matches the criteria adopted in the selection. The objective is to maximize compensation, understood as the difference between funding for salaries of persons with disabilities, and decreased productivity. Restrictive requirements for this model are the conditions under which this kind of companies must meet to receive financial assistance from the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
