Summary/Abstract: The paper is an attempt to determine the state of development in Poland’s SMEs and their degreeof competitiveness regarding the use of modern ICT facilities. A characteristic description of SMEsas well as the analysis of their levels of digitization was undertaken, comparing them with other EUmember countries. The analysis concerning the perspectives of development of Poland’s SMEs revealedan upward trend in the digitization processes,despite the fact that all indicators covered in theanalysis have indicated that Poland’s SMEs attained characteristically lower values, compared to EUmember countries.
