Summary/Abstract: The carnivalized literature uses the myth to talk about current topics, while eliminating the time of great heroes, the heroic age, and exalted talk of serious topics. Critical attitude towards myth brings freshness that is achieved through a series of critical processes: parodying of genres, destruction of high rhetoric, profanation of characters and destruction of "big" themes. The heroes of this literature have been deformed both spiritually and physically, indicating the deformation of the time in which these writers create. Miodrag Bulatovic has been said to be one of the most distinguished representatives of carnival literature, and known as one of the most prominent writers of Montenegrin literature of the 20th century. Dark, morbid, grotesque, tragic, fantastic, marvelous are the traits of his poetics. A grotesque game with an ideological and axiologically privileged theme of war shows the author's attitude toward him. From the specific caricature of the war, comic-tragic characters of fantastic-fantasy world of thi novel Heroj na magarcu were born.
