THE REASONS FOR THE TAILING-OFF OF TRADITIONAL BORÇKA TILE AND BRICK PRODUCTION

Summary/Abstract: In the field study, it was identified that handmade bricks and tiles were used in some of the houses in Borçka district of Artvin province. It was learned that the production of the bricks used in these structures was made in Ibrikli and Adagül villages in Borçka, while the production of the tiles was made in the Opuca location in the village of Ibrikli. In the field study, it was also learned that the production is not made at the present time. The aim of the research is to find out about the old tile and brick production sites, methods and history in the region.
