Summary/Abstract: In spite of the existence of historic tensions and numerous episodes of territorial rapt and wars between Russia and China during the history of the last two centuries, after the Cold War’s end, these countries began to progressively solve their territorial disputes and to forge a strategic partnership which is obviously directed against the systemic hegemony of the USA. Anyway, there are still some elements which keep them apart from forming an alliance and many Russians fear that a rising China which could become number one in the world could generate a serious threats for Russian national interests on the long term.
