Summary/Abstract: 2014 brings important changes in Afghanistan. International coalition troops lead by NATO will start to withdraw and on the national political stage it will take place a transfer of power and responsibilities. The international community is looking forward towards the stability and peaceful development in a harsh environment and hopes for better future for a hard tested people. Hopes are with the Afghans, but huge challenges are following: bad governance, drug trafficking, tribal misbehavior, resilient insurgency, corruption and violence.
