Summary/Abstract: The article outlines the process of dialogue that led to the adoption of the document Towards a common vision of the Church and then synthetically discusses its structure. The main part is the analysis of the document’s records regarding the basic ecclesiological assumptions. They refer to the study of four denominations and seek answers to the question about the degree of convergence of positions captured in the document. The text in question does not constitute a declaration of a fully shared vision of the Church, but it appears as a fruit of reflection on the Church, understood as God’s gift as well as communion with God and another human being. Thus, it is a call for Christians to deepen the understanding of the Church and to discover in her the action of God.
