Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the position of workers, the standard of living and economic conditions in socialist Yugoslavia in the 1960s. Special attention has been given to the workers' strikes that frequently occurred in the Yugoslav society since the late 50s. The author analyzes the causes of strikes, their consequences and the reactions that they have caused. The sources from the Archives of Yugoslavia, as well as relevant periodicals and literature were used.
