Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author deals with the issue of ethnic identification of the contemporary Serbian community / national minority in Hungary. Several aspects of the problem are taken into account: self-identification, symbols of identity and the criteria of belonging to the group, dual identity and the distance “us:them ” .
