Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the teaching of the Being in Greek and Islamic philosophy. The question of being shows not only similarities but also differences in the approach to this central issue in the history of Greek and Islamic philosophical thought. The novelty introduced by the Islamic philosophers is metaphysics of creation which is under the influence of religious scriptures. It will be shown that only God is the Being (wujud), and that the world is not wujud. For the world, according to the teachings of Greek philosophers, can not not exist, as opposed to the teaching medieval philosophers who speak of God as a the being. In fact, wujud is another name for God. Islamic philosophers deepen the concepts inherited from Greek philosophy, and access them in the light of religious intent, particularly with regard to the fundamental concepts of metaphysics as being, essence, truth, necessity, accidental, substance.
