Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to illustrate the economic status of the Jews during the Middle Ages, and more specific – two different landmarks: the money-lender Jew and the Court Jew. The following analysis will provide a brief historical background, it will investigate some relevant cases, and it will offer a refreshing point of view to the subject, set up from a literary approach.
