Summary/Abstract: The paper concerns the early period of life of individuals with visual impairment. Intervention in this period affects the overall quality of life of these individuals and their social surroundings. The focus is on qualitative indicators of care for individuals with visual impairment, with special emphasis on early care services. What will be illustrated through case studies is the need for an early intervention and its contribution to the future life of persons with visual impairment and their families. This study is the result of research activities supported by the IGA project: IGA_PdF_2016_013 entitled “Factors affecting the quality of life of people with special needs“.
