Summary/Abstract: The restore operation is trying to cancel damages produced in time, where possible, until the chemical processes are restored, having regard to, for this purpose, both aesthetic and scientific aspects. Scientific examination offers an important aid in choosing appropriate treatment and provide information relating to the marking and the authenticity of the object. For the textiles the technical, special feature fabrics and the colors used may be decisive in determining age, provenance and authenticity of the object. Saxon needlework of the 19th century has benefited from a comprehensive approach, and by rehabilitating its degraded structure and re-establishing its image the original message is brought back.
