Summary/Abstract: The article represents the results of the analysis of the mathematics teaching situation in the main school. The research was made using such method as respondent‘s questionnares and the data of 912 students of V–X formers from 47 Lithuanian cities, settlements and villages were analyzed. This research deals with the authors essential scientific problem: what possibilities exist to find the methods to modernize teaching of mathematics in the main school. The aims of this research were to ascertain the traits of mathematics teaching of V–X formers and to establish the methods, which teachers applied to foster the constructive relations. The research results and their analysis let draw the following conclusions: – mathematics teachers applied such tradicional methods as independent work, self-control, work with visual manuals; – mathematics teachers should be recommended to pay more attention to control ir pairs, to the possibilities for choose of the work‘s variant, to organizing the work of students ir groups and with computers, to projects making, to emphasize of historical elements; – considering peculiarities of human behaviour of junior teenagers, teachers should maintain friendly relations, fostering pupil‘s self-respect and respect. The reform of Lithuanian school education brought innovations into teacher‘s training too. Students at the pedagogical university should be oriented on the development of the competences to create the modern methodics of mathematics teaching and to raise the effective and constructive reciprocity.
