Summary/Abstract: The beginning of the XIX-th century, with the leap that it gave to Albanian literature, took with it the linguistic load of the time, related with the Albanian language for the historical-cultural and social-economic reasons. Since the cultural reality is expressed through language, in its highest form, than in other field, it enables the convey of the lexicological forms of the time, in the works he translated in Albanian. The complex problematic, enables that the lexicological study of the language used, leads to important facts related with the use and owning the Albanian language of that time, especially in the Tosk dialect, as it results in the translation of the New Testament from the doctor of Ali pashë Tepelena, Vangjel Meksi. Since the religious translations all around the world affected over the creation of the translation theories for the respective countries, here we will observe what happens with the Albanian language brought by Vangjel Meksi in his Tosk translation of the New Testament. The challenges and the achievements of the translator, and the language he used, we will try to bring in this paper, with the desire of understanding the values, though overthrown, from big foreign powers, towards the written and spoken Albanian language of the period in question.
