Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The main aim of the study is to present a concept referring to education in postmodernism. The additional aim is to present the method of applying elements of the grounded theory in social research. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research problem and methods are related to an answer to the following question: how to adjust education provided at universities to civilisational changes? Using a questionnaire survey and focus group interview, the respondents’ knowledge has been examined in the field of postmodernism. The considerations on this subject have become a basis for theoretical notes. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: First, the results obtained from the questionnaire sur vey and focus group interviews referring to the postmodernism have been discussed. Then, with reference to the grounded theory, the concepts related to the adjustment of education to new conditions have been presented. RESEARCH RESULTS: The results have allowed the Author to articulate some theses related to the adjustment of study course curricula to current requirements. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Conclusions are of practical significance, and they can come as a recommendation how to adjust education to turbulent social transformations.
