The Application of Information Technology in Family Businesses

Summary/Abstract: The paper concerns the issues related to the application of information technology within the family business. This is a very important subject, which is affected by the fact that family businesses are important parts of the market and their functioning significantly affects the whole economy, providing employment to many people, as well as being the basis of livelihood for a large part of the family. The main objective of paper is to discuss what the conditions and scope of the implementation of information technology in family businesses are, and what effects this entails. Thus, the attempt will be made to determine the role that information technology has in family businesses. At the same time attention will be focused mainly on those family businesses that operate in Poland. Desk research method will be applied.
