Summary/Abstract: Patients’ co-deciding, their participation in health policy is the main idea of this paper. Polish system patient wants to know about their rights and responsibilities, to cooperate with doctors (other medical professionals) in the treatment process in an informed and responsible way. They also want their health to be taken care of, not only in the case of sickness, but also in preventing any disease. This is possible when the doctor (or any other health care professional) is able to promote health by encouraging the health education, prophylaxy, etc. Trained professionals are needed for the cooperation with the patient in this process. The professionals may be recruited, for instance, from graduates of public health schools. The purpose of this study is to present, in the light of the literature devoted to issues of management, by working with patients so as to provide health care with special emphasis on medical prevention of diseases and to present the concept of establishing offices/clinics of preventive medicine. The authors of this paper lay out the concepts for the organization of health promotion/disease prevention clinics – in connection with the need to create preventive medicine level. It would create a model of doctor-patient cooperation and management in the field of prevention. Such are the expectations of patients, this is the need. This will “relieve doctors” and there is a large group of graduates for instance of public health or physiotherapy schools, who would be able to replace successfully doctors in this cooperation with a good result for both parties.
