Summary/Abstract: The aim is to identify the existing achievements in the field of methodological issues undertaken in the field of human resource management, with particular emphasis on research rigor. A systematic review of literature and content analysis of two prestigious magazines: “Human Resources Management” and “Zarządzanie Zasobami Ludzkimi” was conducted. The research results indicate that this topic requires intensive exploration due to the small number of existing publications in this area, and indicates the need for a qualitative improvement in the descriptions of research methodology in national publications. Good practices in this area may contribute to the development of methodologies in human resources management, indicating ways to solve specific scientific problems, providing also the basis for ensuring the reliability and credibility of research.
