Summary/Abstract: Stephen of Thebes († before 450) is the author of 12 Commandments and 100 Commandments to Egyptian monks. They are edited here in Slavonic translation, the first datable to the time of the mission to Morava (863–885), the second to the Pliska–Preslav period (886–971). The translations preserve the original text better than the Greek tradition, even if its quotations by Isaias of Gaza (†488) are included. To the edition are appended a review of the traces of transcription from Glagolitic and of the variation accrued in Slavonic transmission.
