Summary/Abstract: Medical waste pose a threat both for persons working with them (therefore, it is necessary to prepare and share with the employees instructions on how to deal with medical waste) and for the environment which can get contaminated. That is why the act on medical waste contemplates many restrictions on their production, storage and utilisation. The objective of the article is to present various types of medical waste and the rules on dealing with then in accordance with the dispositions of the act on waste and well as other executive acts. The article is based on current subject literature and the analysis of legal acts. The article is a desk research analysis.
