Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work is to present the possibilities the use of outsourcing in health care facilities brings and what dangers come along with the implementation of this tool. Outsourcing is an action which influences a change of the organizational structure of a facility and its contacts with the outside and therefore is restructuring in character. Thanks to it, the organizational structure of a facility is reduced, employment is reduced; the number of units, organization’s positions and the levels of management are decreased. Thanks to this treatment this ‘slimmed down’ organizational hospital structure is more flexible and able to quickly react to changes in the environment. The most important threats to the application of outsourcing during the restructuring of medical facilities are: wrong choice of an outsourcing partner, being dependent on external entities, fewer possibilities to flexibly manage functions passed on to the outside and lowered motivation of your own employees.
