Summary/Abstract: The EBPH rules apply to small physician practices, large health care institutions and to the entire health care system. They should therefore be well known and understood by all decision makers who decide on organization, operations and financials of the health care system. Application of such tools should nowadays be considered as a must for everyday medical practice. The task of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is to determine the efficiency of a specific procedure and to issue recommendations regarding the conditions under which it should be applied. Quality Assurance (QA) in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures assesses the quality of procedures applied in particular place and time.
