Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is the analysis of public-private partnership as an instrument affecting the development of innovation in the public sector. The essence and main elements characterizing PPP were analyzed on the example of two pilot projects implemented in the health care sector. As a result of the analysis, it should be clearly stated that perceiving innovation as a process of changes aimed at increasing efficiency should inherently be associated with PPP. In this perspective, PPP can be a catalyst for innovative changes in the area of public services. The authors perceive innovations being activities undertaken using PPP as a process of changes aimed at increasing the efficiency of the public sector functioning.
