Crisis Management in Schools in Poland and in The United States

Summary/Abstract: The crisis situation requires the adoption of specific strategies of conduct. The key task of the school’s director (educational institution) is to protect the image of the institution and its safety. This article presents the assumptions of crisis management, which is one of the essential elements of the proper functioning of the school. Organizational aspects and rules of conduct during the occurrence of crisis situations were presented. The aim of the study is to review, analyze and evaluate Polish and foreign research devoted to the problems of crisis management. The culmination of the article is a list of organizations dealing with crisis management. The scientific databases, such as Scopus, Google Scholar, Wiley Online Library, as well as the IBUK Libra electronic book platform, were used to gather materials regarded as a valuable source of information.
