Summary/Abstract: This article describes how cooperation in the field of innovation has developed in industrial and service enterprises. The information presented in the article is nationwide and scaled to Lubuskie province. Economic science shows cooperation as an important argument in building competitive advantage of enterprises. The economic literature emphasizes that cooperation is a significantly important issue for enterprises, especially for the small and medium sized companies. The author completes literary studies with quantitative empirical studies. The author also took up the challenge to answer the question: Does the cooperation of the Polish small and medium sized enterprises in the field of innovation increase or decrease?
