The Network Context of Cities Revitalization

Summary/Abstract: The network economics, networks of cities, network model of the city, networks connect local partners are examples of the city revitalization contexts. The objective of the study is characteristics of essence, conditions and effects of revitalization of cities that belong to the network of cities. This new approach to planning revitalization processes will be discussed on the example of Supra-local revitalization programme of Cittaslow network cities in the region of Warmia and Mazury. This programme concern fourteen small cities in Polish National Network of Cittaslow Cities. In the research has been used the critical literature review method and analysis of selected planning materials of cities and Cittaslow network. The paper shows that the course, directions and effects of such revitalization depend on the relationship of individuals in the network and their access to the information and resources and that the one of the main effects of revitalization in the network of cities may be the development of network tourism product.
